About

Manhattan based medallist and sculptor, Chris Kunk, received his MFA in sculpture from the New York Academy of Art in 2021. Here he spent his time studying anatomy, making cast copies from the school’s extensive collection, and learning the nuances of producing work in terracotta. Since graduating in 2021, Chris’ main focus has been on medallions and other works in bas-relief. His interests in storytelling, history, and literature lend themselves well to this form of sculpture.

Chris has participated in numerous exhibitions including shows with the National Sculpture Society and the Hudson Valley Art Association. He has also received awards such as the 2024 Dexter Jones Award from the National Sculpture Society.

Chris is currently an Artistic Fellow at the Newington-Cropsey Foundation under the direction of Greg Wyatt.
